An Update
Time, Distilled
This poem reminds me of my childhood. I was mesmerized by the bright lights that lit up Karachi’s night for numerous parties during the summer wedding season. I didn’t much care for the boring receptions, but I loved the henna that adorned hands and the garlands that adorned hair.
Song On Repeat
I’ve been trying my hand at haikus lately. The rigid syllabic structure gives me the constraints I need to carefully select which words to use, one of the things I love doing when I write poetry. I was listening to “Somewhere Only We Know” by Keane, on repeat, when I wrote this.
