Freedom To Fail

A Poem

an amygdala
1 min readOct 16, 2019

freed from the burden of greatness, I flourish
in the spaces for scribbles and strikethroughs-
for expanding the incomplete puzzle pieces
of my trajectory- for post-its with unfinished
ideas to think through,

for I want to move undeterred along this road
that paves itself moments before my foot lands
at hand- a reasonable ruler to measure failures

no point in holding constant bonfires
for my demons to rejoice- the way I
stumble might be written in the stars,
palms pushing me up is a choice.
