Friday At Five

A Poem

an amygdala
1 min readAug 7, 2019

the sun beats down upon empty streets

(this part
of the city is always quiet
and barren)

I sit in the passenger seat of a taxi

waiting patiently to prepare my ritual bath

and wash another week of this life

I do not want

off of me.
