Gillian Sisley thank you for writing this. Sexual assault against girls and women is trivialized all the damn time. We have to fight so hard to keep from buying into the myth that our truth doesn’t matter or is some type of manipulative ploy.

I want you to know that I stand with you very firmly on two points you made.

1. No one, not one person, is owed your story (or my story). That’s a gift to share and it sometimes comes with an emotional price tag that we pay. Talking about our trauma can be re-traumatizing.
2. It’s so shitty we live in a world where we have to keep analyzing whether or not we can trust those who say they love us.
