If You Want To Change Your Self-Image, Affirmations Aren’t Enough

With the advent of the more recent self-help movement, self-affirmations have become a tool to combat the negative voices in our heads that underscore our worst beliefs about ourselves.

Bite-sized positivity quotes have the purpose of helping an individual feel like they have strength, confidence, capability, and many other fulfilling attributes. While there can be a benefit in taking action, even if it’s as small as a scribble on a post-it stuck to your bathroom mirror, to truly integrate new beliefs about yourself into your overall self-image, you must reinforce these beliefs by meeting your goals.

Accomplishing small goals helps affirm positive beliefs

Big goals and large aspirations throw us their glistening smiles from a great distance, but the truth is that we can’t accomplish huge goals every day. Our time and energy are limited resources. What we can do is make and accomplish small goals that validate the new positive beliefs we are in the process of implementing.
