how do you want to slice this orange?

you never much liked citrus

(it always felt like
an assault on the senses)

your saliva dries up
just by the thought of it

if life gave you lemons
you’d probably give them
right back

but you’re starving
and everything’s closed

desperate times call for
tangy measures

I guess the uncomfortable truth is

we all have to be a little less
picky sometimes.
