Simple Health Advice For An Unrelenting Food-Lover

Here’s the truth: I don’t have the conviction to always eat clean, and that’s okay.

I’m not in a mental space right now to do a full-blown ketogenic diet. I’m not sure if I even think a diet of this sort is the best way for me to lose those pesky pounds. I’ve taken extreme measures before, lost the weight, and then gained it all back with interest.

Instead, I’m opting for a lifestyle change that’s radical enough to result in noticeable weight loss while consisting of steps I can see myself committing to for the long term.

Ah, the long term.

This gets complicated for me. I have serious mood swings and cravings when I’m PMSing, so I can predict how well I’ll stick to a nutritional plan for a couple of weeks at best before I’m on my knees begging for some chocolate.

When the week before my period arrives, you can find me in a corner having unsettling daydreams about food. No joke, yesterday I fantasized about swimming in a pool-sized Chipotle burrito bowl.

I used the delectable, salty, crispy chips as my floaties. I dipped my arms into the bowl and just licked the sour cream and cheese and chicken and guacamole directly off of them. My mouth is watering now, again, at the…
