what does it mean to survive?

to watch you avert your eyes
from these fingerprints
the monster left behind

what does it mean to survive?

I make each of your dreams come alive
just to watch you aglow with pride

what does it mean to survive?

claw into my underbelly, you will see
I have packed your secrets inside
gulped down my loneliness

in the night it is a starless sky

have I done a good job?

you always said love is sacrifice.
